Improve your language skills with the Maison des Langues - Centre FLE
The UPJV's Maison des Langues offers you a wide range of free services: accompanied or on your own, you can benefit from intensive language courses and prepare for certifying language tests, so you can arrive more confidently at your internship or study stay abroad.
If you are going on an Erasmus+ Study or Internship placement, you will be required to take the OLS (Online Linguistic Support) language test online before your departure, to assess your knowledge of the language of instruction in your destination country.
You will receive an automatic email from Erasmus + OLS to take this free test.
Evaluate your budget
To avoid financial setbacks once you've arrived, it's a good idea to carefully prepare your mobility budget.
In particular, think about the costs of :
- round-trip travel and visa (if applicable)
- public transport in the host city
- telephone costs
- insurance (medical, housing, car, etc.)
- banking
- accommodation (rent, deposit, utilities)
- services at the partner university (printing, student cards, etc.)
- food
- leisure and outings
The cost of living varies from country to country! A move to Romania costs around €500/month (rent + food + public transport), while a move to Norway costs around €1,200/month!

Please note: financial aid for mobility will be paid 2 to 3 weeks after your arrival abroad. So it's essential to plan a budget to cover at least 2 months' rent.
Make a checklist of things not to forget
- book your train or plane tickets to take advantage of special rates
- check with your telephone operator whether your subscription includes calls, MMS and Internet browsing abroad, which can entail extra charges outside the package
- find your accommodation
- find out about associations that welcome international students, to help you integrate (mentoring by a native student, socio-cultural activities, etc.)
- your study contract or internship agreement, as well as your arrival and end-of-stay certificates. Any documents requested by your host university
- your UPJV student card
- your identity card or passport, or VISA if necessary. Please note validity dates! These documents must still be valid on the date on which your stay is due to end.
- your European health insurance card. Check with your mutual insurance company to make sure you are covered in your host country.
- your bank card and cash to cover small expenses on arrival
