Lyme disease

The French association Lyme sans frontière showcases the denial concerning the tick-borne diseases in France. The Lyme disease is a bacterial disease that affects various organs and evolves over several years or decades. This disease is growing up in Europe and the United States.

This news reminds one of smallFOREST project’s goals, which is the quantification of tick abundance and infection prevalence for tick-borne diseases.

“Hundreds of thousands French people would be suffering from Lyme disease, transmitted by ticks, often without knowing it,” explains the association. That’s why they want the Ministry of Health to improve information on the disease, detection and support. A demonstration will be organized in Strasbourg on September 15th to support these claims.
