EVENT E.SENSE – ATELIER 21

What if tomorrow’s energy futures had already been imagined yesterday?

From October 5 to 9, 2026, the E.SENSE project invites you to explore the exhibition “Paleo-Energy / Retrofuture: The Forgotten Futures of Energy” at the Citadelle of the University of Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV) in Amiens.

Why were certain technologies abandoned? And what can these “forgotten futures” teach us as we envision the energy transitions of tomorrow?

Developed in collaboration with Atelier 21 and the participatory research program Paleo-Energetique.org, the exhibition explores inventions, technical developments, and energy solutions that were imagined or tested in the past, only to be abandoned, forgotten… or sometimes rediscovered.
