The president is elected by the Administration Council, the Scientific Council, and the Council of Studies and University Life.
He is chosen from teacher-researchers at the university for a 5-year term. He may not be re-elected in the five years following the end of his term.
His role
The President is head of the university.
- He is the university representative
- He authorises expenditure and income
- He presides over the three councils and acts on their decisions
- He has authority over the whole of the university staff
- He appoints the examiners
- He is in charge of maintaining order and may call on authorities charged with public order under certain legal conditions
