Du 8 Janvier au 8 Février 2019, nous accueillons dans notre Unité Ronja Wedegärtner. Elle est en thèse à NTNU à Trondheim en Norvège où son encadrante principale est Prof. Dr. Bente Jessen Graae (NTNU, Norvège). Elle est également co-encadrée par Prof. Dr. René van der Wal (Université d’Aberdeen) et Dr. Jonas Lembrechts (Université d’Anvers).
Le titre de sa thèse est « Highways up the mountains? – Trails as facilitators for redistribution of plant species in mountain areas ».
Durant son séjour, elle travaillera avec Jonathan Lenoir et elle présentera son sujet de Thèse lors d’un séminaire d’Unité (date et heure seront précisées ultérieurement).

« I am a plant ecologist interested in understanding why species grow where they grow and which factors influence changes in spatial species occurrence in mountain ecosystems. The aim of my PhD project is to estimate the impact of hiking trails on plant communities in the Scandinavian mountains. In Amiens I will collaborate with Dr. Jonathan Lenoir to model the distribution of focal lowland plants along mountain trails. The data for this modeling effort was collected globally and you can still join, if you are hiking in the southern hemisphere before March 2019. More info: http://www.mountaininvasions.org/?p=497. I am also interested in biotic interactions and finding new ways of collecting ecological data – be it with drones or by citizen scientists using an app on their mobile phones.
