We are very pleased to inform you that our international online seminar \u00ab\u00a0A transnational history of film schools in the 20th century\u00a0\u00bb <\/strong>will start again on next Wednesday 12th November 2025 at 4 pm Paris time, at this link<\/a><\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will have the pleasure to listen to Klara Trskova (Film curator at the National Film Archive of Prague), <\/strong>who will give a talk entitled \u00ab\u00a0Fading histories: Latin American Students and their FAMU Experience\u00a0\u00bb.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This online seminar aims to bring together researchers from different countries working on film schools in the 20th<\/sup> century from a historical and transnational perspective. The following themes will be addressed: the circulation of political ideas, artistic practices and the creation of transnational professional networks. The focus will be on the social actors \u2013 teachers, administrative staff and students \u2013 and their productions (student films).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar will continue then on :

–February 18 2026, Cassandra Boldor<\/strong> (Universidad de la Rep\u00fablica Uruguay – UdelaR) : \u00ab\u00a0En Praga (1964): the documentarist Mario Handler between Montevideo and FAMU.\u00a0\u00bb
–March 18 2026, Pascaline Morinc\u00f4me<\/strong> (Universit\u00e9 Jean Monnet de Saint-\u00c9tienne) : \u00ab\u00a0\u201cEverything must change\u201d: alternative Film Schools in United Sates and in Europe (1970-1990)\u00a0\u00bb
-On April 15 2026<\/strong>, we will finally hold a prospective session, where everyone is welcome to discuss the conclusions of our seminar, what is to be done next, what field, countries and schools still need to be investigated upon, what current researches are being led but not yet finished, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
